Okay y'all. Fair is fair.
My niece lives in a neighboring town and my sister and her significant other decided to have her 1st birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. I live out of state and didn't know anything about the location or the surrounding area, which I can tell you that according to Google and Yelp reviews, both leave much to be desired. Ergo, I was a tad skeptical of how this little shindig would go.
Our little party block of time began on a Saturday right when they opened. We must've been there at the right time. It wasn't very crowded at all. There were maybe two other birthday parties going on. My niece obviously couldn't do much, but there were some more age-appropriate kids with us who at least had something fun to do.
I had originally planned to either eat before we went, or right after, but that didn't quite happen so since I was realllllllly hungry, I ended up having some pizza and y'all: it wasn't bad! I even played a few games.
What really stood out was the staff, especially the manager. They were awwwwwwwwwwwesome. That would not be an easy job for me, but they were super enthusiastic and wonderful. One review mentioned a security guard taking up watch over the salad bar. About 30 minutes before we left, a Columbus PD officer arrived and was helping out by the front door. It did start getting more crowded at that point, but we were done so...whatever. Anyway, the employees were great. All of the games worked, it was clean, we had a great experience. -

I went to a birthday party here recently.
The pizza is still terrible. There are only Pepsi products to drink. And the video game selection is weak.
Despite all that working against them, the staff working that day were tremendous. Helpful, friendly, courteous. This is not easy at a place overrun with kids, parents, brats, germs, noise, lights, the same music every 30 minutes, etc.
Kudos to the staff, they are a credit to Charles Edward Cheesington's establishment. Now, corporate, let's get that pizza up to snuff, switch to Coke products, and bring in some real arcade games. -

First time for our 3 year old twins. After all the commercials we broke down. We went early evening in a Friday and it was dead. The staff greeted us and we ordered the pizza deal and a side order of fries. The place was clean. Parents this is the ONLY location that does not have beer....trust me if it had been busy we would have needed it for sure. Our pizza was what you would come to expect. It was more of a medium than a large. The fries were bored on the ends and were stale. I'm not sure how they cooked them but I would not order them again. All of the games were in working order. When we cashed in the kids tickets the staff was very friendly and helpful.

For years I drove past this establishment and never went because my son was too small. He had been to the Chuck E. Cheese in Dublin a year ago and seemed to like it. Recently he started begging to go to "Chucka Cheeeeeez" and I couldn't understand why. Apparently they sponsor shows on PBS so my kid gets a full helping of pro Chuck E. advertising while watching Arthur or Curious George.
I broke down and took him on his 3rd Birthday and he was crying within 2 minutes of entering the establishment (The rat scared him). We didn't order food because I am familiar with the Price and quality here and didn't think it was worth it.
Some of the games were broken, which is sad cause there aren't that many. There were 3 rides that were ok for my 3 year old to ride on and that's it. At the Dublin Chuck E. there was an infant play area that was fenced off from the rest so your baby doesn't get trampled by an 8 year old. I couldn't get over how loud it is in there. It the machines with the lights and sirens. And then there's the animatronic stage show adding to the cacophony. We only stayed 20 mins ( so I could get my skee ball on).
This location is ideal for ages 6+. I wouldn't actually host a party here, instead its cheap enough to bring the kids and let them run around on a rainy day while spending 10 bucks on tokens.
